Background has been selected to participate in FULL CONTACT, the professional portfolio review programme of SCAN Tarragona 2025, one of the leading international festivals dedicated to contemporary photography.
FULL CONTACT is designed for emerging artists who use photography as their primary medium of expression. Bringing together a carefully selected group of photographers with curators, editors and other leading figures from the contemporary art world, the programme offers a platform for professional exchange and dialogue.
Through a series of one-to-one portfolio reviews, participating artists have the opportunity to present their work, receive critical feedback from internationally recognised professionals, and establish new connections within the field.
For the 2025 edition, 15 artists were selected by curators Sonia Berger and Sema D’Acosta. Background is among this international group of photographers, whose projects reflect the breadth and diversity of contemporary photographic practice.
